What looks like rope is human hair The locket carries the W H in a heart mark which is that of Wightman and Hough, Providence, RI. Wightman Hough made jewelry from 1856-1922. Part of the clasp has been replaced with a contemporary spring ring to allow ease of use. All other parts are original Victorian era.
