<description>Carpet balls were developed during the reign of Queen Victoria--1832-1901--as a game to be played in the parlor. This antique carpet ball or carpet bowl dates to the Victoria age. It is an unusual white with gold flecks.  The carpet ball is about 3.5 inches in diameter and is quite heavy. The condition is good. There are the usual tiny circle dents where the ball has been hit hard. Original balls are very hard to find and this one is a unique design and in good condition for its age and use. </description>
