Goodell-Pratt Breast Drill Two Speed No. 245

This is a very nice clean 16.5 quot; long, two speed breast drill. It is marked quot;AMERICAN MANUFACTURER GOODELL-PRATT COMPANY TOOLSMITHS GREENFIELD MASS. U.S.A. quot; on the crank wheel, and also marked quot;GOODELL-PRATT COMPANY TOOLSMITHS GREENFIELD MASS. U.S.A. PAT. MAR. 31.1896 quot; on the crank handle. The 3 jaw, 1 2 quot; capacity chuck is also marked quot;GOODELL-PRATT COMPANY TOOLSMITHS GREENFIELD MASS. U.S.A. PAT. AUG.13.1895 quot;. This type of chuck is keyless, for holding straight shank drill bits. This one has a rather unique speed selector on the side of the main frame of the drill. It is a spring loaded, lift and turn type of gear shifter, a little stubborn at times, kind of like shifting and old truck or car, but it always shifts. Both speeds and all gears are in great working condition, as well as the chuck and the wood handles, solid no cracks. The black and red Japanning is in good condition overall, a very soft type paint is seems, and has lost some of it's shine, mostly on the red color. The Japanning is about 70 intact overall. This is a very nice drill I would rate is at medium-heavy duty. The breast plate is 2 position adjustable or a 90 degree movement from where it is in the pictures. A nice old tool, in very clean used condition One other thing worth mentioning is that many of the Goodell-Pratt drill, and other similar tool to this one, were basically the same design and quality as the Millers Falls models, except of course they were marked with different names.

Stanley No. 40 Scrub Plane Nice Early Version

This is a very nice, early scrub plane marked quot;STANLEY RULE LEVEL CO. quot; on the cutter, with the 2-line TM. The toe is marked quot;STANLEY quot; and there is a quot;NO. 40 quot; mark just behind the front knob. This is not a type 1, but was made shortly after, since it has the plain thumbscrew on the cap cover, the the beech handle and knob. This plane is in very good shape overall with the only noted issues are the tight grain seperation in the front knob, still very solid, and the repaired crack in the tote, both tested, both very solid. The old cutter is sharp, ready to use, with plenty of stock left for future sharpening. The Japanning is about 85 intact overall, with most of the wear on the exterior walls, about 99 intact inside the cast body area. The bottom is clean and flat, a little wear, some minor scratches, no rust anywhere, very clean, no cracks in the iron anywhere. Very nice early scrub plane overall

Precision Oiler Incremental Control w Fitted Box Nice

This is a very nice, top quality, all metel precision oiler with an incremental drop control unit built in, so you can control the exact amount of oil being release by counting the click as you turn the graduated, thumb wheel that acts as a push syring type plunger inside this oiler unit. There is little female half round notches on the end thumb wheel, and a male spring loaded matching half round tab that drops into each female notch as you turn this thumb wheel, making enough sound as to be able to count the number of clicks to gauge the correct amount of oil to be released. Filling the unit is quick and simple, as all end caps are precision theaded caps with rubber seals to keep this unit from leaking. The only mark on this oiler is the part number which is quot;401 A quot;. All the parts can be removed and re-assembled. The pin that the oil comes out of is .032 quot;, and the inside hole is only about .010 quot; diameter, very small. All the seals and washers are in good working order, this unit is used, however there is little sign of use, no rust, no damage works great.

Dunlap Machinist Screwdriver Wood Handle Rare 8 inch

This is a clean, very rare, heavy duty 8.5 quot; long machinist screwdriver, marked quot;DUNLAP 4 quot; BK quot; on the square area near the handle. That square area you see in the pictures is the feature that most defines the machinist screwdriver, as it was designed to give the user the opting to use this screwdriver in combination with a wrench, for additional torque purposes, so the flared shank and refined cast steel was also design to take the additional torque. This one is in very good used condition with a two wood section handle grip area, a oblong shaped, or quot;PERFECT HANDLE quot; designed handle. The wood is solid, very well attached, a few very small dings in the wood noted, larger than normal steel rivot heads, very nice design. We do note that one of the wood sections has shrunk a little bit, so there is a slight seperation on one side between the steel and the wood, but this section doesn't move at all, solid mounting. The steel is clean and straight, not rusty or bent up, and a nice 5 16 quot; wide tip with minimal wear. The end cap is all metal on this one, so the wood is well protected at the ends. One of the nicer ones we have seen in this style

Belknap Screwdriver Knife Wood Handle 8 inch Blue Grass

This is a rare and hard to find quot;PERFECT HANDLE quot; or quot;KNIFE HANDLE quot; as it is sometimes called , slot screwdriver. This one has a rather unique design with the round shank extending for the socket in the handle, appears to have been two seperate piece fused together in the forging process. It is marked with a name and nice logo, very clearly quot;BELKNAP BLUE GRASS TRADE MARK LOUISVILLE U.S.A. PAT. APPL'D FOR quot; on the shank. It is in good condition with no rust, good solid, well attached wood sections, the wood is clean with some minor dings, a few small stains noted, nice finish on the wood sections, and on the steel. We do note that the handle end steel has been tapped with a hammer, or used as a hammer over the years, note bad, but noted. The tip is in nice shape 1 4 quot; wide. The actual overall length is 8.5 quot;. The steel is clean, nicely polished surface, very nice overall

This is a rare and hard to find quot;PERFECT HANDLE quot; or quot;KNIFE HANDLE quot; as it is sometimes called , slot screwdriver. This one matches the shape and design feature of an IRWIN, but is not marked. It is in good condition with no rust, good solid, well attached wood sections, the wood is clean with very little wear, a few very minor grain seperations, but not cracked, yet still in about 95 it's original shape, meaning it has no chipped off areas on the wood sections. The tip is in nice shape 5 16 quot; wide. The actual overall length is 10 quot;. The steel is clean, nicely polished surface, very nice overall

Pexto Ratchet Brace No. 8010E Nice

This is a very nice clean useable 10 quot; swing ratchet brace made and marked quot;PEXTO MADE IN USA quot; on the handle arm, also marked quot;8010E quot; on the chuck arm. This brace features very nice, unique marblized molded handles that appear much like exotic tropical hardwood, but are actually a special heavy duty injection molded plastic, similar to the same material that Henry Disston used on some of their high end hand-saws The handles in very good condition, with some minor dings and wear, but nice finish overall. The finish on the metal surfaces is also very nice, it appears the arms are polished bare metal, and some of the hardware parts are nickel plated. This is one of Peck, Stow and Wilcox Co.'s better ratchet braces, with ball bearing head drive, very nice two jaw chuck, very heavy duty on both the chuck and the ratchet system. The chuck works perfectly, as well as the ratchet. A nice antique brace in great working condition. Truely a pleasure to use The PEXTO logo is that of Peck Stow Wilcox Co., a well known, respected tool maker in the early 1900's.

Bridgeport Screwdriver Heavy Duty Machinist w Wood Hand

Offering this nice hard to find 9 quot; long x 5 8 quot; wide at tip, machinist's heavy duty screwdriver, clearly marked quot;BRIDGEPORT U.S.A. quot; on the steel. This is a good useable machinist tool, build with a similar style to the later stanley quot;HURWOOD quot; screwdrivers, also much like the H.D. Smith Co. quot;PERFECT HANDLE quot; screwdrivers. The wood handle is in the quot;PERFECT HANDLE quot; style with two wood segments that are solid, tightly attached. The wood has some dings but with less than normal wear, the steel is clean very nice tip, no pitting or rust noted, clean and in good condition overall. You'll like the feel of this one on those heavy duty applications The square shank is designed to be used with an adjustable wrench if need be for additional leverage, for this reason, called a machinist or machanics screwdriver as both ofter require more torque than wood working type screwdrivers would. The handle end has some marks from being tapped with a hammer, but again, better than average condition overall
